Simply brilliant. .. gives us gringos a chance to not sound like idiots. Gracious
I am impressed with the method used as i always felt compelled to know beforehand the various conjugations before i can really speak the language.
I definitely have an interest in learning more through this method you have employed.
Bien hecho
so far so good
I know masses of Spanish yet seem to have trouble bringing it out of my mouth your audio has made this easy for me to do. I never understand a Spanish speaker even if they talk slower for me do you have any advise for that?
Thanks….wish I had known your technique when I moved to Guatemala! Gracias, j
I am looking forward to my lessons! Thank you for this resource.
Hi Marcus and Ava
I have to say that I did have some BASIC knowledge of Spanish prior to taking-up the Shortcut to Spanish Level 1 Course which I have just completed and I am going back over it to ensure it has penetrated the grey matter sufficiently before moving on. I have found it a very good base on which to build and I really appreciate ALL the helpful extra audios that you send. Each one somehow seems to be adding a new layer to what I am learning and ALREADY several people have commented on how well I am NOW conversing and at 64 years of age that’s no mean feat.Thanks. Patrick
You’ve taken away my mental crutch in what little Spanish I speak: I have been using “yo” as people speaking English answer questions with:”Well,” or “AAhh” before saying anything meaningful. It gives me a split second to get my thoughts in order, so that the words come out in proper sequence. Whenever I use it I know it’s superflous…but gimme a break, I’m from Boston.

Native Spanish speakers often use este while they gather their thoughts.
En Linea is the worse and most difficult online course I have ever taken! I am so frustrated with trying to learn spanish that I could care less if I ever ledarn it or NOT anymore!
Hi Marcus,
Being taught Spanish by you is a great and tremendous relief. After only a month of tutoring by you, my knowledge of the language astonish those that have been trying fruitlessly for years. Your lessons give one the confidence to learn and not feel stupid.
Thanks a lot
Mary
Hi Marcus,
I am not sure where to start. I know a few words but every time I need to make a conversation it seems the words just do not come. They just flew out of my mind into space. I forget them as fast as I have learnt them. My goal is to be able to learn spanish and talk to a special friend in Cuba if I ever meet him again one day. I know this will really surprise him because I could not make one word out of what he was explaining to me when we met that first night. I left this beautiful country full of sadness for not been able to communicate, something I am so good at. I love people and I love to talk.
So please let me know where to start and if I will be able to understand spanish or communicate in a year from today. I would love to buy your CDs or whatever you have that can help me but I am still unsure about everything. However I think if you direct me to the proper one that will help me I will be ready to buy it and hopefully one day will write to you and inform you what I have achieved.
I will prefer you do not publish my name if ever you decide to put my story out.
Thank you in advance for your time and thanks a lot for the little bit and pieces you keep sending me.
Just started Learning Spanish – was ploughing through verb tables when I came across your website.
Great concept – feels like a natural way to learn and instills confidence from the start – well done!
I think that this is a great way to learn Spanish….well done!
I have purchased The Bola De Nieve and just love it!
Thanks 🙂 .
This is the easiest way to learn. thanx
Just tried for the first time your Sideways Spanish Audio, makes me think faster and use with more confidence. Thanks for the encouragement.
Did Spanish at nightschool but find that this is much easier to understand. I visit Spain every year and get by quite well, the Spanish appreciate that I am trying to speak their language and so if I make errors they are most helpful. I am now 72yrs of age and find that this approach by your good self is very helpful, thank you.
Enjoyed the sample sideways Spanish audio. Review for me but simplified learning for my husband. We do most of our studying Spanish in winter months when we are in Costa Rica.
This makes sooo much more sense!! WHY wasn’t I doing this years ago?? I’ve lived in Mexico for 4 years and still bomb on verbs, but this could be a saviour! 🙂
fantastic!
thanks
Excellent, really helpful
i learned i speak to him le hablo and remembered it, which i did not do with gramma books, and i have been trying for a few years, just words, anne clark
Such a good idea love the way you teach Spanish I talked more Spanish more than I did all year in class and learned nothing like you said you pass the test bug still having to think about 60 million words to come up with a sentence I live the system toh used how much is it to buy a program so I can do it on the computer please , thank you
I’m going to Nicaragua next week and here Iam trying to cram a little Spanish into my brain. Ioved your teaching method!
muchas gracias. this is so good and i can’t belive its free. i can’t spell so trying to learn just writing and reading is hard. this is easy. helen
The verb sideways is excellent—& the audio is such a bonus
This is a very helpful way of coming to grips with getting a reasonable sentence together.
Well done
Maria
I can’t believe in this day and age how much free material you give away…Thank you for your efforts to help those of us that have low self efficacy when it comes to learning the spanish langauge
Thank you Marcus….I find your free e.mails and audio lessons very very useful.
I will buy your courses when I can
Thanks Kim
Hi Marcus,
I am now working on your course Shortcut to Spanish, and I love it! You are the best Spanish teacher I found that makes Spanish all come together easy.
Thanks,
Andrea.
Pretty simple techniques to speak spanish. Amazing how it’s so easy.
Hi Marcus, I lived in Spain for 15 years but never really got to grips with the language. I now live in England but your approach to the Spanish language has made me determined master it. I really enjoy the lessons and feel that at last I am making progress. Incidentally I am 78 years old.
Hola, senor (excuse me but I can’t spell your name without looking at it in print”
I want to say santorium but I know that is incorrect.)
I just wanted to tell you that I appreciate all the good stuff you have sent to me via
E-mail; audios and lessons on spanish. I appreciate especially the audios; I record
them on a little recorder (using cassetes) and then play them back over and over
until I learn the words. Acutally, I memorize them so I won’t forget them. Then I
can form other sentences with what I learned from you. I feel guilty because I haven’t
bought anything from you. I am retired and on a fixed income, but I feel compelled to
send you some money for one of your products. Maybe I will, but until I do, please
continue sending the audios. Thank you very much. James wingard
I would put some of this in” Espanol” but I can’t spell in Spanish either; it would take
me all night just to write these short sentences. Actually, I can speak a little spanish,
but I don’t have much change to practice what I know. And without practice, I soon
become rusty and then forget some or all of it. I have copied a lot of material from your
many e-mails and study it when I have time. I am an accountant(retired) (retirado) and
still do some work (I like to use “ubilado” instead of “retirado”)
at home to help out with the finances, if you know what I mean. I tell people I come in
contact with about you and your website, so, I feel I am helping in that regard.
Adios, Y muchas grasias; hasta luego!
Pienso que es mas facil “sideways spanish”.
Gracias
Raylene
Dear Marcus,
I have recently purchased Three courses from you. Synergy Spanish and shortcut to Spanish informal deluxe 1 and two, In the last Month.
I find your teaching methods so refreshing and easy to learn. After almost ten years of living around many coastal areas of Spain and now Latin America. taking many endless courses, books and private lessons with no success, i was at the brink of giving up and failure for the last time. No matter how much time i studied, practiced or wrote in Spanish i could not seem to put a conversation together face to face.
Your courses have given me the confidence i lacked for so many years and have helped build that bridge back to interacting with my friends here Latin America.
I can not Thank You Enough for making this course so enjoyable, easy to listen to and comprehend. It is so incredible that i am now starting to win the war on this language…. I still have a long way to go….but for the first time in many years i feel the confidence to move forward enjoying absolutely every lesson… Learning has never been so enjoyable or easy for me i can’t There aren’t enough words to express my gratitude to you and this course… my only regret is that i didn’t find your courses all those years ago. Life would have been so much easier back then.
I am a firm believer in Better Late Than Never… and i am only to happy to sing your praises to anyone who asks me about your courses.
I do however have another request…. as i think it would be a natural for you in the way that you teach…
Do you teach English also?
My husband and I along with our teenage children donate our time here in Costa Rica to the local students that want to learn English. We have had some fabulous results, but i must say an English course from you we would buy for all our students and friends that want to learn English. I can’t think of a nicer gift for us all to share….
muy agradecido Tania McCreath.
Hola
Thanks for that great feedback. Helping people make sense of Spanish when they have struggled with the language is what i do best. It always makes my day when I get this type of comment, thanks again.
At the moment I am still busy creating more Spanish lessons. I do want to create a program for teaching English, I’m just not sure when it will happen.
Saludos
Marcus
I totally appreciate your enthusiasm in which you promote your Spanish Program, eventhough
I have not quite understood how it really works, but I certainly will order it shortly.
One thing, for example, you mentioned y is always dad. Though, expiry is calucidad and
I cannot see any related word for said English expression. A burning quesion, how will
you teach the past and future tense?
con respetos
Gus
I’ send a lot of samples so you’ll soon understand the process.
The pattern I recommended is actually to change English words that end in – ity – to – idad, in Spanish. It works not all the time, but about 95% of the time.
University = Universidad, Hospitality = Hospitalidad, Eternity = Eternidad.
This has lifted a veil from my brain, sooo simple yet sooo effective. Thank you
I am slightly Dislexic and find working from a book really hard i am enjoying your course very much and enjoying learning
i thought it was a excellent way to learn spanish
I have been teaching myself Spanish for a few years but although I can read it quite well I have problems speaking and understanding what is spoken to me because I live quite a secluded life and so I rarely get the opportunity to practise. Your audio lessons are very well structured. I appreciate this as an ex teacher. They encourage me to speak aloud and increase my confidence. Thank you.
Hi Marcus,
Your method of teaching spanish is the most effective I have encountered. I have gone through the 25 lessons and in two months I could use all the patterns in the lessons. Keep up the good work.
Gracias por la atencion
Saludos de Wayne
Hi; Marcus,
Thank you for your patience and encouragement. You are very good teacher.
I alway learn from your site.
Thank you for your help usted es muy bien mastro.
Have completed Bola de nieve and recommend it. Thanks Marcos. I hope you are living with your son
I appreciate your effort to simplify Spanish. The focus on similarities is very helpful. I use your lessons in conjunction with Rosetta Stone and Rosetta Stone benefits because of the tutorial aspects of your approach. I, personally, benefit when given a reason as to why something is as it is. Keep up the good work.
I am slightly Dislexic and find your way of teaching so good i am so pleased that i bought your course i enjoy learning thank you
good idea. my husband is even getting interested and he has tried several night classes with not much progress
Do you have a course which deals specificially with conjugations for tenses other than present? I have present down just fine but have had a block for years in learning the other ones. Really hoping 🙂
Hola
A part Bola de Nieve called Advanced Concepts makes it easy to speak about the past and future.
Saludos
Marcus

i thought it was a excellent way to learn spanish
