I agree, it definitely works but I think it’s important that you make up your own, you’re far more likely to remember them if they came from your head in the first place.

I always thought car was carro. I guess Spanish can be territorial just like English. For instance, we don’t say boot and bonnet as in they do in England. We say trunk and hood.
