In 2007 Jerry Seinfeld, the famous New York Comedian, inadvertently became a guru of getting things done.
Aspiring comedian Brad Isaac asked Jerry’s advice on how to become great. The answer is now known as the Seinfeld method of productivity.
Here’s how it works:
First you pick a fun activity you can do everyday.
To stay motivated, Seinfeld marked the calendar every day he did It.
“After a few days you’ll have a chain. Just keep at it and the chain will grow longer every day. You’ll like seeing that chain, especially when you get a few weeks under your belt. Your only job next is to not break the chain,” said Brad Isaac.
You have to do it each day.
For example it’s fine to read a book about watercolor painting techniques, but if you don’t actually pick up a brush and start painting, you will never improve your painting skills.
It’s the same with Spanish. Instead of beating your head in confusing textbooks you can speak Spanish everyday.
I created a series of 3 FREE 10-minute Spanish video lessons to keep New Year’s resolutions about Spanish alive.
They are perfect to start your Seinfeld chain. You’ll be making solid progress in just a few days.

Tomorrow, I’ll tell you a little twist added Jerry’s method that makes it even better. It’s more fun, more doable and more motivating…especially if you get distracted easily like me.

Dear Marcus: A while back you gave us a sentence in English which also had a meaning in Spanish. I thought I would remember it so I did not write it down. Now I can’t remember what it was and I hope that you can give it to us again. With thanks from Marianne.
I’ve given quite a few so I’m not sure which one you mean.
Please send the free videos. Thank you!

I am trying to learn Spanish in a small group setting once a week from a friend from Mexico. I know a lot of Spanish words and the proper pronunciation of the abecedario. I struggle to make sentences and can only pick out certain words in a conversation. I am thinking your method of learning is what will help me.

Great idea! Looking forward to those videos.
Your article on the Seinfeld chain has also inspired me to kick-start an already overdue activity for 2016: de-cluttering my home!
From today I will take each room / space and make a list of what goes, what stays and what needs to be repaired.
I have been reading simple Spanish books for several months. I can also converse reasonably well in French.
I want to tell you how important your periodic emails are as reminders to study and speak Spanish. They pop up on my screen even on days when I think I am too busy or when I have gone too far along in the day without applying what I have learned. Even when a few get accumulated on my “email not read” list I get to them eventually – and at my own pace. Thanks for the frequent nudges. They are a big help.
Please send the videos. Thank you!
I struggle and cannot get motivated!
Hello Marcus,
I must say videos plus a visual aid is the best way for me to remember Spanish expressions.
We don’t need to speak Spanish every day but I would like to feel a bit more confident when I do need to speak. So keep on with your special offers
Thank you Marilyn
Hello Marcus,
I learned Spanish in college many years ago and can read and write it well. Then I moved to Mexico. However, I was always afraid to talk to people in Spanish because I I was afraid of making mistakes. Then my husband saw your ad on the Internet and bought your first course of lessons for me. Even though the lessons were too easy for me, by repeating the words aloud, those lessons you sent gave me the courage to begin to speak to the Mexicans around me. Your method of teaching Spanish is the best of any.
Gloria
I’m always excited to hear about real-world success. I’m sure your world will be enriched as you get to know more of your Mexican neighbors.
I have had a Rosetta Stone course for a few years now….I am not using it much and have been interested in your method for some time and hope that now wh
Marcus
I bought your first course with speech and written words, and it was great. I did a new part every day, and downloaded the written course each night to re-read the next day. Then I bought the second course you recommended and it had no written words, just speech. That meant I couldn’t download copies to re-read every day as an aide memoire, and the chain broke.
I have now resorted to a text book of the kind you say is no use.
Tim
I don’t want you to lose your momentum so I have upgraded you to the video version. It’s now in your member’s area.

Very doable and effective learning system.
Hola Marcus,
Your programs are incredible! I was going to take advantage of the Christmas and New Year’s specials you had. But, at the time I was flooded with constant expenses from the holiday season. I intend to sign up for one of your Synergy Spanish perhaps for my birthday, lo cual es el 5 de junio. Mi problema más serio es que no tengo mucha confianza con mi capaz de comunicar con otra gente nativa hispanohablante. Soy profesor de español de una clase de alumnos quienes asisten los grados preK4 al octavo nivel. Me parece que su método de aprender este idioma hermosísimo es el mejor del mundo. Me fascina que has creado este sistema lo cual es tan fácil para hablantes de todos niveles del lenguaje con poco experiencia de comunicación con otros. Gracias por este programa disponible e increíble.
I am getting old and forgetful, but want to learn anyway.ok
